Bible Verse: Matthew 21:1-11; John 12:12-19
Memory Verse: Matthew 21:9
The people shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
Jesus came into this world as a light (John 12:46). What do you do when the lights go out in your house? Do you light a candle or grab a flashlight? When the lights come on again, you probably think how good it is to have light. Light helps you find your way in the darkness. Jesus said He was “the light of the world (John 8:12). He meant that He offered truth and hope to all who lived in the darkness of sin. Jesus came to bring us out of the darkness of sin into the light of salvation.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
That is why the people shouted “Hosanna to the Son of David.” They knew Jesus had come to save them from their sins. Hosanna means “to save, rescue, savior.”
Take some time to say “Thank you” to Jesus for saving you from sin.
